Pedro Sampaio takes the "world's biggest horse" to Rock in Rio 2026

Brazilian artist Pedro Sampaio is the second confirmed performer for the next edition of Rock in Rio Lisbon, in 2026, and promises to bring "the biggest horse in the world" to the festival.

The announcement "was made in an unprecedented way", on Sunday night, at the Rock in Rio Party at Bliss, in Vilamoura, which featured "a surprise performance" by Pedro Sampaio.

"We believe in celebrating moments with our fans, and Pedro Sampaio is all about the Rock in Rio spirit, which is synonymous with partying, energy, and dedication. The announcement of his return to the festival was made in grand style, and the promise he leaves for the Palco Mundo stage in 2026 is on par with the festival itself: the biggest horse in the world, on the biggest stage, in front of more than eighty thousand people. I'm certain he will go down in the history of Rock in Rio Lisbon," said Roberta Medina, executive vice president of Rock in Rio, quoted in a statement sent to newsrooms this Monday.

Pedro Sampaio left a guarantee: "Lisbon, get ready! The biggest horse show in the world will take place on the World Stage. There will be a horse show, there will be everything. It's a promise!"

Pedro Sampaio is the second name announced for the next edition of Rock in Rio, after the North American band Linkin Park was confirmed at the end of May.

American band Linkin Park will perform on June 21, 2026 in Portugal, at the Rock in Rio Lisboa festival, in Parque Tejo, being the first headliner revealed for the next edition, the organization announced today.

The Brazilian artist thus returns to the festival stage - which takes place on June 20, 21, 27 and 28, 2026, at Parque Tejo, in Lisbon - after his debut in 2024.

"I have a huge affection for the Portuguese audience, who have welcomed me from the beginning. Every show there is special, but being on the Palco Mundo stage at Rock in Rio Lisbon, one of the biggest festivals in the world, is truly a dream come true. You can expect an unforgettable moment," emphasized Pedro Sampaio.

The date of the performance will be revealed soon, but, according to the organization, "a show that will remain in the memory of fans is already anticipated."

Pedro Sampaio, it should be noted, is one of Brazil's greatest artists today, blending funk with other cultural rhythms. "With a distinctive style, he stands out as one of the leading representatives of the new generation of Brazilian funk," reads the note sent to newsrooms.

The producer and singer reached the top of Spotify Brazil and Portugal twice, with 'Dançarina' and 'Popcoc'.

The artist also has singles with big names in world music, such as Anitta, JBalvin, Luisa Sonza, Pabllo Vittar, Marina Sena, Ana Castela, Nicky Jam, Dadju, among others.

He was also nominated for a Latin Grammy, with the single 'Joga Pra Lua', in the category of Best Urban Performance in Portuguese.
